Cheetah and Dog Become Bestest Of Friends

Dogs have been used as companion animals to cheetahs for over thirty years. As the two grow up together, they create a bond that becomes sibling like. They provide companionship for each other. The dog has a calming influence because the cheetah will take behavioral cues from the dog, learning not to fear his surroundings, but instead embrace them with confidence. The dog normally becomes the dominant figure in the relationship by becoming the protector and leader. The cheetah will not hurt or kill his friend.
Kumbali and Kago, will live out their lives together. If determined to be best for Kumbali, he will be reintroduced to his brother when older. Kago will still stay at the Zoo and join the Zoo Director’s family to live out his life there with the Zoo Director’s personal dog. Or, Kago may be used again as a cheetah companion if the need arises in the future.
